The 16th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition opened Thursday, March 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Arts Complex. All media is represented in this annual exhibition: drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, ceramics, digital media, printmaking, sculpture. This event is a celebration of what the Arts at Florida Gulf Coast University have to offer.

 Evening's Schedule 


5:00pm - 8:00pm  Gallery Receptions in the Main Gallery and the ArtLab


     Opening Reception for the "Juried Student Art Exhibition" - Main Gallery/Arts Complex 


     Closing Reception for "Human Forms and Drawing Lessons" - ArtLab/Library West


     Pottery Sale - Arts Complex Courtyard


     Photo Booth run by FGCU Photography Club - ArtLab/Library West


5:00pm Music by the Bower School of Music Brass Quintet - Arts Complex

 

6:00pm  Awards Ceremony for the Artists - Arts Complex Courtyard



7:00pm  Performance by FGCU Dance Company - Arts Complex Courtyard


The exhibit features 70 artworks by FGCU students selected by jurors Andy Browne, Jim Krieger, and Richard Mueller from more than 300 submissions. Students of all levels were invited to participate. Scholarship and cash awards were presented to students at the opening reception. Among the awards received is the Carl Schwartz Award for Artistic Endeavor, Rauschenberg  Studio Tour Awards, Southwest Florida Fine Craft Guild Awards of Excellence, the Frame-It of Bonita Springs, and the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Scholarship Award.
