The exhibition celebrates the life and work of Harvey Littleton (1922-2013) as a printmaker and founder of Littleton Studios. Approximately 40 prints are featured in the exhibition highlighting the numerous artists who were invited to work at Littleton Studios over the years.  FGCU is pleased to announce the works as a promised gift to the University from Harvey Littleton’s daughter, Carol Littleton Shay.

Harvey Littleton came to prominence in the art world as the founder of the art glass movement, introducing the medium of glass as a fine art. He was also a printmaker and founded Littleton Studios, which focused on developing a process of printing from glass plates known as vitreography. The title of the exhibition, No Secrets, points to Littleton’s generosity and drive to explore the possibilities of the glass medium. Artists from all over the world came to Littleton Studios to work with Littleton in this process and created diverse works of art, exploring the expressive power of the medium.  Artists such as Dale Chihuly, Warrington Colescott and Hollis Sigler are a few of the names to be found in the exhibition creating powerful abstract, political and figurative works of art.
